At JByamukama & Co. Advocates we believe in mentorship and growth of professionals. We hire on an annual basis a couple of interns to explore their potentials in the profession. We have an internship program involving two schemes, one that targets the undergraduate students from various universities in and out of Uganda and another that targets postgraduate students from the Law Development Centre. The aim is to introduce and acclimatize the interns to the actual and practical life of the legal profession and of a lawyer. The interns are provided with the opportunities to experience a wide range of practice areas both in civil and criminal matters. They participate in drafting pleadings, filings, negotiations and court hearings.
Unlike as viewed by most professionals, at JByamukama & Co. Advocates, the interns are introduced to Alternative Dispute Resolutions mechanisms as opposed to just litigations. The internship helps the firm in mentoring young professionals as well as identifying individuals with the potential to join the Firm as Associates in the future.
